BYLAW ENFORCEMENT

2L8A6869_edited.jpg

The District of Metchosin has extensive power through local bylaws to protect the environment, public health and safety and the general well-being of residents. These bylaws cover matters like local land use, dumping (“soil deposits”), tree-cutting, noise, and unsightly properties. Metchosin's Official Community Plan is among the most comprehensive of the District's bylaws.

Based on the experience of MetchosinH2O members and comments we’ve heard from residents, Metchosin’s approach to bylaw enforcement needs to be re-calibrated.
